Corners worn, gilt titles fading, spine ends beginning to fray, a little soiling and foxing to preliminaries, endpapers yellowed, pages tanned throughout. Vida Scudder was a Wellesley College professor and Socialist leader as well as one of the first women to be admitted to the graduate program at Oxford. Scudder is also honored with a feast day on the liturgical calendar of the Episcopal Church (USA) on October 10.
