Inscribed to Mrs. Francis Fowler III and signed by by the author on the front endpaper. Two letters to Francis Fowler III of the Southern Comfort Corporation son of the famous Francis Fowler Jr. signed by Hoover’s secretary laid in. Also laid in a photograph of several people with Hoover seated on a boardwalk. First edition in English of the 1556 Latin classic on mining technology. The Hoover translation is noted for its accuracy and extensive footnotes and remains the standard English translation. Scarce – it is estimated that only about 1500 copies were printed.
